LibraryGeorgia State houses three university libraries. Additionally, many academic departments provide libraries for their students. they offer many research tools and services. University Library The University Library contain many books, including active serials and media materials. The library provides access to numerous electronic periodical and resource indexes (many with full text), electronic journals, and electronic books. Additionally, the library is a Federal Document Depository and holds more than 820,000 government documents with electronic access to many additional titles. The University Library is comprised of Library North and Library South, which are connected by a bridge on floors 3-5. Special Collections and Archives The Special Collections Department of the Georgia State University Library collects and preserves unique historical materials in selected subject areas. The department promotes the use of these materials by the Georgia State community, scholars and the public. Its goal is to advance scholarship and to further the educational, research and service missions of the university. Alpharetta Center Library The Alpharetta Center Library is located at the Alpharetta Center, an extended campus serving Georgia State University students, faculty and staff in the north Fulton county area. Many of the library services available at the University Library are also available at the Alpharetta Center. Law Library The College of Law Library, an essential resource for the College of Law, metropolitan Atlanta's legal community and the public, provides print and electronic resources, advanced technology, and superior service. The library is designed to foster an environment where researchers can prepare for classes or work on legal issues.
